“ Oh, Holy Spirit, Soul of my soul, I adore You.
Light me up, guide me, fortify me, comfort me.
Tell me what I have to do, let me know what You want from me.
I promise to submit myself  to what You want from me
and to accept all that You allow to happen to me.
To know Your will is enough for me”

1st GLORIOUS MYSTERY

Although Jesus had repeatedly told to both His Apostles and disciples that after His Passion and Death  He would have risen, His appearances  overtook  all of them by surprise  and filled their souls with great wonder and joy.
In the episode of  the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, for instance, there are some moments experienced by the two pilgrims which mirror the story of  each of us (not only as single individuals, but also as a couple).
They depart from Jerusalem, symbol of the Church, and are hopeless.
“ Jesus Himself came up and walked along with them. but they were kept from recognizing Him”. …..all things that happen daily to us !
And Jesus says to  them (and to us too): "How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! “
And then it only took an act of  love “Stay with us ,for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over." …..and he went in to stay with them. and repays such an act of love breaking the Bread with them and for them( the Eucharist). “Then, their eyes were opened and recognized Him” and were bursting with joy: "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?........we recognized Him when he broke the Bread"
How nice!

Thank you Jesus for Your rising and walking with us!

2nd GLORIOUS MISTERY

Luke, in the Acts of the Apostles, begins by saying: “After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God”.
We  can only but guess what He may have told His friends, the number of details on His reign already described in the parables told in the Gospels, the lots of advice that the  Apostles have not realized yet so that shortly after, in line 6, you can read that they asked Him: ““Lord, is this the time when you will restore the kingdom to Israel?”
John, in the speeches after the Last Supper, relates words such as: “ it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you […] “But, when the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth”. (John 16: 7 and  13).
Luke, in 1:8-9 adds: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem [.....]and to the ends of the earth” .After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.”

Thank you Jesus because all that You revealed us came true

3rd GLORIOUS MISTERY

What Jesus had promised comes true  50 days after Easter.
The Apostles are gathered in the Supper Room where Jesus had held the Last Supper. They are persevering in prayer with Mary the Mother of Jesus.
In no more than 4 lines it is described an event which,  after the Incarnation, Passion and Resurrection, will completely change the world. At first they were afraid, but they soon start, by means of a courage and a faith completely unknown to them up to that moment, that testimony requested by Jesus, which will led them -through the course of their lives- to suffer martyrdom.
As He rose, on the night of that very day, Jesus, appearing to them in the room where Jesus had held the Last Supper, had predicted  the event of this mystery by what has been called the little  Pentecost, when He exclaimed: “ Peace be with you!”
and then, shortly after, repeats: “Peace be unto you! As my father hath sent me, even so I send you. And when He said this, He breathed on them and said to them: Receive the Holy Ghost: if you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven. ” . (John, 20:19-23).

Thank you Jesus for such an unlimited gift of the Holy Spirit which always gives life and encourages Your Church, community of believers and personally each of us.

4th GLORIOUS MISTERY

The scene must have been significant: Mary, mother of God, in soul and  glorious body, like Jesus’ risen body, ascends to Heaven, that is, in Her new way of being.
A woman clothed with the sun”: it is the Church, and it is also Mary,  mother  of the Church….She is clothed in the  light “I am the light of the world. Whoever  follows me………will have the light of life…” (John,8-12), Jesus had said  and Mary, His Mother, who is also His first disciple shrouded by the light of Life. In the Old Testament the Sun is considered as a  God’s privileged creature, and within the New Testament it is said as regards the Heavenly Father, of  “His sun” (Matthew, 5:45). Of this Sun that is His, God enshrouds and covers the Woman. Loved  by Him, loaded with His best gifts.
With the moon under Her feet” : the Moon, which has the function of- according to the mentality  of the Old Testament- regulating the progress of time, is under the Woman’s feet, who completely dominates it, beyond the vicissitudes of the time. It already has its eternity.
And a crown of twelve stars on Her head”: the  crown symbolizes royalty. The Virgin Mary is Queen because She is  the Mother of the King, Christ the King, Queen of the Apostles, the Martyrs, the Virgins, and with all the titles that we can  find in all the litanies dedicated to Her.
The twelve stars refer to the number of the twelve tribes of Israel  which we find in the story of the Old Testament, as well as the twelve Apostles in the story of the New Testament.
All the History gathers around Her.

Thank you Mary

Note: When we see the European flag  flying, we can rightly think about the Virgin Mary, and this is an occasion for joy for the Christian roots of  the Old Continent.
The choice of  this  flag had a very long and complex way, but in the end we usually attribute the winning pattern to the French Catholic draughtsman Arsène Heitz , who afterwards gave a Biblical explanation of it, making reference to an image of the devotion to the Virgin Mary emblematic of the 12th chapter of the Apocalypse (first verse): “A great sign appeared in Heaven: a Woman clothed with the Sun,
and the moon under Her feet, and on Her head a crown of twelve stars”.
Such a choice was approved by the  representatives of the governments on December 8, 1955 in Paris and this date too is significant as it  celebrates the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception.

5th GLORIOUS MISTERY

As for this final mystery of the Rosary, we don’t have any Biblical reference, but our faith can help us  imagine  what happened.
An antiphon of the Blessed Virgin Mary, at the end of the liturgy  of the Compline (Night Prayer), continuing  the first Joyful Mystery, says:“ You,  who receiving  the  angel’s greeting,  while the entire creation is bewildered, gave birth to Your Creator”.
It is  this “bewilderment” that, at the moment of The Incarnation, catches the entire creation, and now fills the “Bride” with an indescribable joy.
For the first time She comes face to face with Her Bridegroom, the Holy Spirit; She has a face-to-face meeting with her Son’s Father, Our Father,  both Our and Her Creator; She meets Jesus again the Heavenly glory at last!
All the angels share both Her bewilderment and joy …….She meets Gabriel again who brought Her the announcement that changed the world, She meets the Apostles who shared with Her the pilgrimage of faith on Earth, She becomes  one with all the Saints who lived in the Ancient Covenant, the patriarchs, the prophets   known in the listening of their Word, rejoices with the martyrs, the virgins…. All had been waiting for Her arrival, at the same time as all wait for our arrival too, if God wants to receive us in His mercy.
This is the mystery which always makes us homesick for Heaven!

Thank you Jesus because with Your Passion, Death and Resurrection you have prepared  a place for us in the house of The Father next to both all of you and the Virgin Mary.
